Morreu a pintora Helen Frankenthaler e o pintor James Rizzi.
Helen Frankenthaler, Mountains and Sea, 1952

Contrastes 2
A exuberância na sobriedade.
O brilho na escuridão.
A luz no lusco-fusco.
A juventude na antiguidade.
A serenidade na inquietude.

Para onde vão as palavras dos poetas?
"Where My Books Go", William Butler Yeats
All the words
that I utter,
And all the words that I write,
Must spread out their wings untiring,
And never rest in their flight,
Till they come where your sad, sad heart is,
And sing to you in the night,
Beyond where the waters are moving,
Storm-darken’d or starry bright.
And all the words that I write,
Must spread out their wings untiring,
And never rest in their flight,
Till they come where your sad, sad heart is,
And sing to you in the night,
Beyond where the waters are moving,
Storm-darken’d or starry bright.

Ironia e humor negro

"Marc Chagall and his wife Bella lightheartedly float in a state of romantic bliss while kissing to celebrate her birthday. Painted shortly after his return from Paris to Russia to take Bella as his bride, The Birthday, which resides in the MoMA’s collection, shows that the artist was willing to bend over backwards to prove his love." A mulher e o espelho
Paul Delvaux, "Femme au Miroir"
As in sleeping-drink spices
softly she loosens in the liquid-clear
mirror her fatigued demeanor;
and she puts her smile deep inside.
And she waits while the liquid
rises from it; then she pours her hair
into the mirror, and, lifting one
wondrous shoulder from the evening gown,
she drinks quietly from her image. She drinks
what a lover would drink feeling dazed,
searching it, full of mistrust; and she only
beckons to her maid when at the bottom
of her mirror she finds candles, wardrobes,
and the cloudy dregs of a late hour.

Nenúfares
Claude Monet, Les Nymphéas - Reflets Verts (parte do quadro)My whole life is mine, but whoever says so
will deprive me, for it is infinite.
The ripple of water, the shade of the sky
are mine; it is still the same, my life.
No desire opens me: I am full,
I never close myself with refusal -
in the rythm of my daily soul
I do not desire -I am moved;
by being moved I exert my empire,
making the dreams of night real:
into my body at the bottom of the water
I attract the beyonds of mirrors...
